Ingredients
- Chickpea Pasta: Chickpeas, Pea Starch, Tapioca, Xanthan Gum.
- Cheese: Cheddar Cheese (Cultured Pasteurized Milk, Salt, Enzymes), Nonfat Milk, Buttermilk, Butter (Cream, Salt), Salt, Lactic Acid, Disodium Phosphate, Annatto and Paprika Extract (color).
Contains: Milk.
Cooking Tips
- Butter isn’t required, but if you want to live on the wild side, adding a tablespoon or two will make the final cheese sauce richer and creamier!
- A creamy bowl of mac is a great place to throw in some veggies, fresh herbs or spices to change things up. We love adding roasted broccoli to the yellow cheddar.
How to Cook Banza Cheddar Shells
Bring a medium pot of water to a rolling boil (about 6 cups). Add Banza, stir, and reduce to a simmer.
Cook to desired firmness, stirring frequently, about 7-8 minutes (expect foam).
Strain, rinse with water, and return Banza to warm pot.
Add ¼ cup lowfat milk, then sprinkle cheese overtop. Mix well and enjoy! (Optional: Add 2 tbsp butter for a richer flavor).

"I'm just a gal in her mid-twenties who orders macaroni & cheese off the kid's menu at every chance, and, this may be controversial, but Banza beats 95% of the lot. It's salty, it's creamy, it's even got that nostalgic orange-yellow sauce. Does it taste exactly like white wheat pasta? No. But will it trick my boyfriend into thinking it's junk food? Absolutely. And that's my marker for a mac that WORKS."

"I thought the pasta was good, but tasted very earthy. I am eager to try the regular pasta as well!"
Family eats Banza several times a week.

"My son eats a box of this every day. So much healthier than Kraft or Noodles mac & cheese. The chickpea pasta is most similar to real pasta (more than other kinds of veggie pasta out there)."

"This tastes exactly like the Kraft version, I love it, more protein is the only difference, I made it lower in fat by cutting the butter and adding Broth."
I love Banza but this was sad

"I love Banza pasta and cook with it all the time! But this Banza mac and cheese was very sad. It just tasted like powder… I even added more milk and more cheese after the initial taste test but I couldn’t get past the powdered taste."

"I love Banza chickpea pasta! We buy it because Mom had gastric bypass surgery and she can't eat regular pasta anymore."
